A character arrives late to a party, not knowing their ex is there.

“Why am I here?” Jentree was a small, petite, young women who has run into challenge after challenge in her life. She has always felt as if she never gets a break from the traffic of life.

Jentree walked into the trashed house, expecting the party to be more formal. Beer barrels were everywhere, red solo cups on the floor, people passed out and the smell was disgusting. “So this is a party.” She sighed aloud.

The hostess was the popular cheerleader, named Jade who was gorgeous and knew everything about everyone. Jentree really didn’t want to be here, but something about it drew her there. Her friends were there, so she did have someone to talk to but she was still cautious.

“Oh My God! You, Jentreem finally came out of your cave and showed the world you're face! Congrats and Welcome!” yelled Jade from afar.

Jentree just rolled her eyes and moved on.

Jade and her boyfriend, Max were both hosting this “house party”. Everyone had expected Jade to organize everything but it turns out Max did as much as she did, sadly he was outside when Jade announced Jentree’s presence. So when Alex walked in, Max yelled out that Max and finally arrived and said Jentree was expecting to come in soon too.

I looked up, flustered, red in the face, and having the urge to run. Run from everything. Max’s eyes widened, searching frantically for Jentree’s face.

“Dude, Jentree isn’t here with me.” Mx whispered, “ we aren't dating. So maybe keep it on the down low.”

“Awh, dude. I didn't know. Sorry about that.”

I ran outside, hoping Max didn't see me. “Ugh. What have I done?” I thought aloud.

Max ran around the whole first floor searching for her. He ran through the back door.

There eyes locked. Fire burning through his and rain falling through hers.
