Poem #9: Leave Me Be

Tufts of feathers

Imitate my mind

Make me someone new

Ending only with you

Time to shimmer in the light

On wings of summer shine

Ghosts clouding and crowding

Out of the glittery blue

Yell out my name to the moon

Offer the curtain to the blank canvas

Undo the smear of black paint

Needles glint silver in dim light

Ever the seamstress of night

Enjoy the beauty in the world

Do you not see beauty in me

Too open to earn your trust

On iron nails turned to rust

Giving up on tearing out your heart

Ominous constellations in the sky

Inching closer and murky water clotting

Costly to the truth you are mottling

Astral figures dancing on the ground

Nodding to the beat of war drums

Nothing good can come of this

On the power lines of insanity

Touching clusters of screaming

Livid with the boiling pot teeming

Instead I look to live alone

View you through a looking glass

Essence streaming forth

With watery wings waiting

Innate to the point of preservation

Thinking only of you without me

How can you breathe without me

Only you can see me without you

Until only I can see me without you

Tearing out my heart

Yesterday seems full to bursting

Out of the cage in the woods

Up and up without a sound
