Emily's Poem #8 - "Sirens"

I hear your voice from the murky depths below,

With the voice of an angel, if angels lived underwater,

But angels do not exist, so I must ask:

Who are you?

I tremble as the water ripples around me,

You are as mysterious as a the night,

But the night cannot swim through water, so I must ask:

Where are you?

I am smitten as you emerge to the surface,

Your eyes alone could bring a dead man back to life,

But you are not a sorceress, so I must ask:

What are you?

I will follow you wherever you wish,

Regardless if you are not an angel, the night, nor a sorceress,

My kiss is a promise to follow you forever and ever,

Even now as you pull my body underwater.
