Poem #1: Blindness

Softly simple
white lies
like floating daisies
White hands cupped
smooth and still
begging for return
Feeling out in blindness
Casting out strings
in white
Painting over colour
to see the mirror
underneath
Children play
in milky eyes
Become the blur
a background of light
Faded and brushed
Daydreaming away
in thickening edges
and watery words
so sweetly simple
